PLEASE TAP TO SEE FULL DESCRIPTION!!! This is a very nice wine taster taste-vin with a kissing serpents handle. It weighs 66.7 grams or 2.15 troy oz It is 3 1/4” or 8.2 cm in diameter and 4 1/8” or 10.5 cm long over the handle. It was made by Ernest ESCHWEGE between 1890 and 1921 his mark was a (E diamond E) in a lozenge shaped cartouche. The ESCHWEGE family were descendants of Moïse Maurice ESCHWEGE, a German Jew who became French in the mid 19th century. The family were diamond dealers and silversmiths, in Paris. I’m not allowed to post direct links here, but if you google “Richard Jean Jacques Albert Ernest Reneeschwege” the first result tells some of the tale. There is a Minerva mark on the ball between the snakes, and a more legible one in one of the boules. The maker’s mark.
